Peruvian opal

Peruvian opal is the national stone of Peru, formed exclusively in the Andes Mountains from silica gels infused with trace elements like copper (for blue-green hues) or quinones (for soft pink shades).

Ancient Andean peoples considered the stone a sacred gift from Pachamama, the Earth mother and fertility goddess.

Unlike traditional "fire" opals like we know from Australia or Ethiopia, Peruvian opal  is valued for its soothing, calm pastel shades and deep cultural heritage, know to bring inner peace.
